Well! It’s been a minute since I’ve been writing, but I have reasons and excuses for that! 😉
The first excuse is that it’s Spring Semester, and as a teacher, that means a lot of boxes to check, and also the just regular exhaustion of getting through the year….
But the most important reason for my absence is that I’ve been working on something new!!! Before you ask, yes, I’m still a Mama Mentor with Mom Mastery University, and still believe deeply in empowering women through that program 🙂 But, I now have an additional item on my belt of skills that I’m excited to share with y’all!
I’ve spent the last while going through the training program to become a Certified Lifestyle Coach with Trim Healthy Mama!!!
Can we take a minute for a Dance Party? (If you’ve been through Boot Camp with me, you know what I’m talking about) (Speaking of Boot Camp, registration is open for the Spring Session- click here if you’re in need of that!)
Before moving forward, I should back up a little…
While going through the Money 90 Day challenge in Mom Mastery Universty, one of the tasks I needed to complete was to get life insurance on myself. So, over the summer last year, I went through that process, with the health evaluations and all that. Well, I had a huge surprise when my bloodwork came back with elevated liver enzymes. That lead me to get an abdominal ultrasound, ultimately diagnosing me with Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease.
While all of this was going on, I had been researching ways to help my youngest son, who is a Type One Diabetic live a healthier life. I was specifically looking for ways to reduce his sugar, while giving him treats so that he doesn’t feel deprived.
Whatever we did, had to
- Be sustainable for the long term
- Be something I could do with my busy life
- Be something everyone in the family could participate in
- Be focused on stabilizing Blood Sugar
- Include Treats!
As I was researching this, I found Trim Healthy Mama, and decided this plan was worth a try.
In God, there are no coincidences. The day I set to start my Trim Healthy Journey with my son just happened to be the day they took my bloodwork. (I had no idea at the time there was a problem, since I’d been on Weight Watchers for a year and a half, and thought I was healthy)
I committed to doing the Trim Healthy Mama Lifestyle exclusively for 90 days to support my son.
When my bloodwork came back, my doctor told me to eat a low fat diet and come back in 90 days. I had already committed to the Trim Healthy Mama Plan, so I decided to continue with this (which is not low fat) and see what the bloodwork said at the 90 day mark. I knew I would have an exact answer to what the plan was doing internally, because I had started this plan the day of my previous bloodwork.
At 90 days, my bloodwork came back with such amazing results, my doctor called me herself to tell me my body was completely healed of the Fatty Liver!
Read that again! In 90 days of eating on plan, I completely healed my body from Fatty Liver! This was enough for me to know this was going to be a lifelong change.
Over the next few months, I began telling my friends and before I knew it, we had a large group at the school where I work living the plan too! Sharing this with people I love has been such a blessing.
It was soon clear that the next natural step would be to become a Certified Trim Healthy Mama Lifestyle Coach because I seriously can’t stop talking about how this plan changed my life!
If you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, I’m here for you. I definitely get you! Drop me a line and let’s chat 🙂
