The Grattitude Challenge

“Grattitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates vision for tomorrow”- Mealody Beattie

I come across people all the time who are stuck.  Maybe they’ve had some really tough things happen to them.  Maybe they’ve experienced profound loss.  Maybe they have lost their ability to dream.  Maybe life has not turned out to be quite what they expected.  Maybe they look in the mirror and don’t recognize the person looking back at them, or maybe the same happens when they look into their spouse’s eyes, or their children’s eyes.  It’s no secret that this world is full of tough stuff.

You may look around you and see some people who seem like they are always happy, and wonder why you don’t have that same thing?  Why would God give them happiness and not you?  The truth is, God is no respecter of persons.  He can and will give you everything He gives to someone else, but you need to be ready to receive it.  If you are speaking out grumblings on a regular basis, you are not ready to receive blessings.  You will not find happiness complaining about your circumstances.

“Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn, or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and grattitude.”- Dennis Waitley

The purpose of this challenge is to change our perspective.  If you can change how you think, you can change how you feel.  If you can change how you feel, you can change your life!

My question to you as we enter into this challenge is this:  Are you really ready to change your life?

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” ~Marianne Williamson

This journey will be challenging.  It sounds easy, but if you really apply yourself and dive in, it will not be easy.  I hope to challenge the way you think, and some of your deep roots.  You will be asked to examine how things make you feel, and how you respond to them.  In the end, it will be worth it.

The challenge will take place inside my facebook group, Nailing Jello to a Tree Sisterhood.  I challenge you to join us!
